About EADE

Is it furniture? Is it installation art? How do form, function, and intention mesh into meticulously handcrafted pieces that are at once comfortable and visually compelling?

These are questions that immediately come to mind when one sees a piece by EADE or Espinosa Arts and Design, the product of a close collaboration between artist Clifford Espinosa and entrepreneur Allan L. Cristobal of ALC Holdings Co., Inc. Established in the Philippines in 2013, EADE showcases Filipino ingenuity, craftsmanship—and even humor—through one-of-a-kind furniture art pieces made entirely of upcycled wood and without the use of a single nail.

Each EADE piece reflects Espinosa’s earth-rooted sensibility; his belief in the yogic integration of mind, body, and spirit; and his drive to harmonize humanity and Mother Earth. As with the artist’s beliefs, EADE’s creations seamlessly interlock like giant pieces of a puzzle to reveal multi-layered artistry and collaboration, and an integration of philosophies.

No two pieces are ever the same. Hence, each EADE piece is truly a work of art—one that deserves a finer appreciation of its superior craftsmanship and the artist’s intentions.

CRAFTING MASTERPIECES BY HAND

EADE (pronounced ee-yah-deh) is the brainchild of Clifford Espinosa (a Filipino artist, environmentalist, and master sculptor), and Allan Cristobal (entrepreneur and CEO of ALC Holdings, Inc.). Each EADE creation is expertly made without a single nail, using only a sophisticated interlocking system created by the master himself. Wooden pegs, mortise and tenon joints make each puzzle-like piece detachable, resulting in multi-layered masterpieces that are artful and functional, and also, simply beautiful to behold.

COMMITED TO THE EARTH

Each EADE masterpiece is unique as a fingerprint, and uses only upcycled wood that has been treated with the utmost care. Since its establishment in 2013, EADE continues to create furniture responsibly, and with sustainability in mind. Each piece is an expression of the artist’s belief in the integration of mind, body, and spirit as it harmonizes with nature.
